Counciloris Is on YouTube (Early Days)

A quick update: Counciloris now has a YouTube channel. It's very early and experimental.

Counciloris turns city council meetings into readable transcripts and summaries for Monterey Park, Montebello, Seattle, and Fort Collins. The YouTube channel tries something new: short clips of notable moments, each linking back to that point in the full transcript so you can read what came before and after.

So far we've posted two clips, both made by hand or close to it. Now we're experimenting with an automated pipeline that picks moments, cuts the clip, and adds captions and on-screen names. Expect things to change while we work out what's worth watching.

Most of what happens at a council meeting never reaches the news. The goal is to make a few minutes of it easy to find and share.

Take a look on YouTube, or browse the full meetings at counciloris.com.
